Newsletter: 2021 Berry Picking Photo Contest

Hi everyone!
We are excited to announce our 2021 Berry Picking Photo Contest!
We started this contest before Covid and we are excited to try it again this year.
We are doing it a little differently this year. Rather than awarding a simple first, second and third place prize, we are picking a favorite blueberry, raspberry AND strawberry u-pick photo!
The three winners will receive a $25 gift certificate to our store, a Rittman Orchards T-shirt and sticker!
We will also pick three honorable mentions who will receive a T-shirt and a sticker.
The entry deadline is July 18th.
Winners will be notified soon after and the winning photos will be posted on Facebook and our website, and possibly seen later in future promotions!

We are getting to the end of strawberry season. We are no longer picking quarts for the store, but u-pick will be open until we run out of berries. We still still have raspberries and blueberries for awhile. If you want to know what we are u-picking, we usually only know a day in advance. You can either call our store in the evening and listen to the message or check this link:

And as always, we have curbside and local delivery available:

PLEASE NOTE:
Both Rittman Orchards and Bent Ladder will be CLOSED Sunday July 4th.
Take Care,

Cherrific!

Although you can’t pick your own cherries at our orchard, we do have a gorgeous crop of Regina sweet cherries this year. You can find bags of them in our market along with some other varieties of sweet cherries that we grow and harvest.

Just Keep Thinning…

The early and mid season peaches are thinned. We’re working on later varieties now. If you missed our video about how we thin our peaches, check it out here:

Just Peachy

It won’t be long until our first peaches! Our earliest are starting to get some size and color. Maybe a week or a little more. We know many of you are very excited about the peaches! At the moment, we are selling Southern peaches in our store, but soon they will be local, juicy, perfect Ohio peaches! Stay tuned!

Cooper’s Corner

“In order to keep a true perspective of one’s importance, everyone should have a dog that will worship him and a cat that will ignore him.”

-Dereke Bruce

Check and check. We have both. Two cats, actually, and it is extremely amusing to watch Cooper and our cat Toby play together. They romp around the house, disturbing area rugs and running into walls. It is quite the scene.
Abigail is starting to really enjoy playing with Cooper too. Her new favorite thing is to crawl between his legs. Cooper is delighted by this and her giggles are infectious as he tries to lick her face. 🙂
