Flavor: Bright, zingy sweetness
Approximate Ripening: Late August – early September
Uses: Eating
Trivia: Discovered in the early 2000s by Tom and Bob McLaughlin of McLaughlin Orchards in Portsmouth, OH.
Notes: Blondee turns the dial up on Gala’s traditional sweetness with a bright, mouth-clearing crispness. It’s a real looker, too; one of the earliest yellow apples of the season. If that’s not enough, it’s a fantastic keeper; store it in your refrigerator and you can enjoy a crisp Blondee weeks after purchase.
