What: A four-day half-day summer camp at a working orchard
When: 9am-12pm July 7-10 or July 14-17
Who: 7-12 year olds
Where: Rittman Orchards and Farm Market
Description:
At our camp, children will learn how food gets from a farm to their house.
We offer hands-on learning opportunities with a retired teacher and amazing camp counselor, onsite at our orchard. Over the course of four days, your child will learn how we plant, care for and harvest a variety of produce on our property. Harvesting is unpredictable, but they will learn about a range of crops from corn, peaches, apples, berries, plums, flowers and more. Every day will include morning gatherings, group harvesting, snacking on our bountiful pickings, cooperative games, free play with a variety of yard games, scavenger hunts and more. It’s a wonderful camp with children who have returned year after year. We are low-key, stress-free and love enjoying nature and the food it can provide us!
