Chenango Strawberry apples on the tree

Trivia: Depending on which story you believe, this apple either originated in Lebanon, NY or originated in in Connecticut and then was brought into the Chenango, NY area during resettlement.  Either way, dates back to about 1850.

Notes: Hot on the heels of berry season comes this lovely conical-shaped heirloom.  Incredibly aromatic, Chenango Strawberry boasts a sharply sweet flavor with a little strawberry punch on the back end.
