Hi everyone,

It seems like the first Festival Weekend was a hit!  Thank you to everyone who came out and made it a big success!!  This coming weekend we have some new activities, so I’ve included the schedule below.  U-pick pumpkins will be on both Saturday and Sunday this weekend, and Bent Ladder will be open on both Fridays and Saturdays now.

If you missed the last newsletter, you can get all the details with how our fall u-pick works here.  One change this weekend–on Saturday and Sunday (please see the schedule below), we’re going to be trying something new for u-pick apples.  Since we had so many people come out this past weekend, if we don’t find a new spot for picking, we’ll be out of apples way before the weekend is over.  Luckily I’ve got a spot in the orchard where there are some really nice Jonagold, Golden Delicious and Macoun that are all close together and will be ripe this weekend.

The plan is to provide you with a wagon ride up to this spot so you can pick these in addition to the trees by the market.  And if you have any space left in your bag afterwards, you can still fill the rest of your bag in the store like we did last weekend.  If you want to pick outside of the times listed below on Saturdays and Sundays, we will still have apples available to pick around the market.  There are still some Jonagold and Melrose left as of this evening.  And I just opened the Red Delicious this morning, so there’s a lot of those.

Unfortunately since we’ll be using the wagon as a shuttle to and from the u-pick, Amanda and I won’t be able to give the Orchard Tour wagon rides that we enjoyed doing last weekend.  We’ll bring them back again, but it seems better to put them on hold right now than to run out of u-pick apples.

Anyway, thanks for your patronage and for taking the time to read this.  I think I’ll just leave things there for tonight, and keep this short-ish (by my standards).  I’ll talk to you again soon!

-Chris
