Peaches, Pristine Apples, and Photos From Around the Farm

Sorry it’s been a few weeks since I’ve blogged.  We’ve been really busy around the farm picking, thinning, and summer pruning (not to mention still working hard at getting Bent Ladder open.  Opening date still TBD).  I also just got back from a few days in western New York at the International Fruit Tree Association’s summer tour and Cornell’s Fruit Field Day.  I got to check out some of the cool new things the bigger fruit growers in New York are up to right now, and I brought back quite a few ideas I’d like to try over the next few years.

In housekeeping news, I just sent out a newsletter last night.  If you haven’t seen it yet, you can find it here.  And if you’d like to subscribe to the newsletter, you can do that by clicking on the link in the top menu, or by clicking here.  I don’t want to be too repetitive, so I’ll try to keep this post pretty short.

I took the photo above of the peaches last night before I left the orchard.  Those are by far our most popular peach variety–Redhaven.  They’re looking like I’ll be able to start picking them before the end of this week.  I also picked a whole bunch of Pristine apples.  They’re in our store now.

Everything else around the orchard is still looking good.  Don’t forget to check our What’s Ripe page for what we have available and what will be ready soon.  Until next time, I’ll leave you with some photos from around the orchard and vineyard.  Thanks for your interest in our farm!
