Hello everyone!
I feel like it’s been awhile since we introduced ourselves to our new subscribers.
Hi!
We are Chris and Amanda Vodraska. Chris and his family (mom, dad and brother) bought Rittman Orchards about 15 years ago and transformed it into what you see today! The winery, Bent Ladder, was added three years ago, a long time dream of Chris’ brother, Matt. I taught elementary school (Pre-school-Kindergarten) for 13 years before I joined the orchard in 2018.
We love what we do and find joy in providing customers with high quality produce. Farming is not an occupation for the faint of heart. It’s been an incredible journey for me to enter this weather-dependent world of planting, cultivating, harvesting, pruning, and more. Not to mention running a farm market at the same time. Oh, and keeping up with a toddler.
Chris is the hardest working man I know. He has gone above and beyond to keep this orchard going through a global pandemic. It has been an honor to work besides him (yes, I share an office with my husband–I love it–but you would have ask Chris for his opinion on this arrangement). Together, we’ve navigated how to stay open and provide customers with healthy foods and high-quality products. It’s been a wonderful adventure so far and I look forward to more!
On another note, I am having so much fun making videos for our YouTube channel! I have always enjoyed video editing. Below is my first “Favorites” video. I plan on making several of these throughout the year to share items I love in our store. I hope you find them informative and perhaps entertaining. ๐
That’s it for now!
Have a great week.
Take Care,
Amanda, Chris & Abbie
Sign It
I’m loving this new sign we commissioned for our store from a company in Macedonia, Ohio. This logo is also on the back of our tee-shirts! I love the message. I think this porcelain-on-steel sign would be the perfect gift for anyone who loves Ohio. ๐
Don’t Bully Me
Just Cream It
Cooper’s Corner
It is crazy how fast puppies grow! Cooper is now 12 weeks old and a ball of fluff. He feels like what I imagine it would be like to touch a cloud. We are still working on basic commands like sit, down and come. He has decided he’d rather jump and bark at us when we tell him to stay…so we will keep working on that… ๐ His favorite things to do at the moment are chew on bully sticks, run outside in the snow and work out with Mommy–and by that I mean take over her workout mat. It’s fun. ๐
