Happy New Year!

It was a wonderful holiday at our house this year. Abbie enjoyed leaving cookies and carrots for Santa. She was thrilled to see her stocking stuffed on Christmas morning. There really is nothing like witnessing a child experience the magic of Christmas. We had simple and small celebrations with our families. And now we are ready to ring in 2021!

We hope you all enjoyed your holiday. On social media, we shared some of the delicious goodies we (we, meaning Chris) made while we were home. This time of year we actually have time to be home and we take full advantage. I will share those posts below for those who are not on Facebook or Instagram.  We also have some goodies that will help you add a little oomph to any New Year’s Eve celebration. I will include a description of those as well.

Chris and crew are busy these days pruning trees and getting them ready for the spring.  It’s a lot of work and we are so lucky to have such a great team!   I am busy ordering for the store and keeping everything in stock.  We are still selling puzzles like you would not believe.  Chris and I are almost finished with a really cool Tim Burton puzzle.  We don’t sell it in the store…yet.  But, I bought Chris three really cool puzzles for Christmas, so we will be busy for awhile.  At least three weeks.  🙂

Please note we will be closing at 2pm on 12/31 and we will be closed New Year’s Day!  Have a wonderful end of the year.  We are looking forward to what 2021 brings…while keeping our fingers crossed.

Take care,

-Amanda, Chris & Abigail

When You Dip

We added two new flavors to the dipping oils we carry from Davis & Davis…Parmesan Basil and Mykonos.  We  are also trying some of their Dip Mixes.  I am excited to try the Everything but the Bagel one on New Year’s Eve!

Book Ends

These are two new books we have added to the store.  Chris picked them out from a great publishing company called FarCountry Press.  Tasting Ohio has some wonderful recipes that we are excited to try.  And Ohio: A Photographic Journey has some gorgeous photos of places we have seen and many we have yet to visit.  Come check these books out today!

Chris and the Chocolate Factory

Some of you might not know this, but Chris makes the most amazing candies. This holiday season he did not disappoint. He used a recipe from a Liddabit Sweets book and Smooth Operator from Peanut Butter & Co. to make the most amazing buckeyes I have ever had in my life. I can’t stop eating them.

A Lotta Pizza

Chris (are you sensing a theme in our kitchen?) made this pizza in a cast iron pan. It is our third time making it, and every time it’s been outstanding. We used Sonoma Gourmet Pizza Sauce and loved it! The recipe is called Crispy Cheesy Pan Pizza and it’s the 2020 Recipe of the Year from King Arthur Baking. We highly recommend this recipe.  When we shared this on social media, we found a lot of others who had tried it and raved about it as well!
