Hi everyone,
We’re coming up on the final Fall Festival Weekend here at the Orchard. It’s been a big success spreading the festival over multiple weekends which has also allowed us to add a lot more activities. It’s definitely what we’re planning on doing going forward, hopefully continuing to grow it with even more activities next year.
But if you’ve missed the first two weekends, don’t worry! You’ve got one more chance. This weekend, the Wayne County Humane Society will be back for another adoption day, Quite Frank will be serving up delicious food truck fare, Picks and Hammers will play some great music, Johnny Appleseed will be back and Amanda Roesel will be taking more family photos.
We’ll also be doing the expanded u-pick apples again like we did this past weekend. I’ll be opening the Enterprise by the market, so we’ll have those and Red Delicious down there starting Saturday morning. And then I’ll also be shuttling people via wagon ride up to one of our orchard blocks for some Jonagold, Macoun and Golden Delicious. That part is for slightly limited hours, so please check the schedule below. You can also visit our Events page, or follow the Fall Festival Event on Facebook here.
I also wanted to mention our Pumpkin Patch Party coming up on October 15th. This one is shaping up to be my favorite of anything we’ve done so far. We’ll have pumpkin picking and so many other cool things, including a pumpkin decorating contest! We’re still finalizing the details on the contest, so I’ll have a lot more information in next week’s newsletter. But Lerch’s Donuts will be here!! Along with Quite Frank, Amanda Roesel will be taking photos, we’ll be bringing back the wagon tours around the orchards, 5 Star Talent will be making balloon art, Medina Macaroni Kid will have kids crafts…
And possibly the coolest thing of all: Children’s author Conrad Storad will be here doing book readings at Noon and 2 pm, followed by signing sessions!! Make sure to have the kids attend at least one of those readings because they’re going to be a lot of fun. Some of my favorite things are books I have gotten signed by authors. If your kids are anything like I was/am, they really will treasure this experience. I’m so excited that we get to bring something like this to you.
If you’re interested, you can check the Facebook event page here. And I’ll have more information about the Pumpkin Patch Party in the newsletter next week. Until then, thank you for your continued interest in our farm and for taking the time to read this!
-Chris
